Surroundings

At only half hour of Amsterdam is Zandvoort aan Zee, at the Noordzee, having very clean beaches, wonderfull dunes, a large number of beach pavilions with great terraces, a cosy old city centre famous for its 'vissershuisjes', trendy shops which are open 7 days a week, Holland casino; a perfect holiday starts here!

In springtime the blooming tulipfields are colorblankets nearby, as is the De Keukenhof.

The small village is worth a visit, with its 'sloppies (Zandvoorts dialect for narrow streets and alleys) with its original vissershuisjes (fishermens houses). 

Nice for children (and their parents) is the Juttersmuseum, a museum where a lot of different things are displayed that were found on the beach. Also some nice games and quests. 

If you have some more time, Haarlem is at 10 trainminutes! Haarlem is a very old city, where you can make wonderful city tours combined with non-stop-shopping!

For kids there is Europs largest playground Linnaeushof in Bennebroek its an endless experience with more than 350 play equipments, like paddle boats, gliders, trampolines and many more.
